OVERVIEW

Updating a city's identity involves more than just making a logo. Research into the city’s history and culture is necessary to collect inspiration from which to draw ideas. We start with rough sketches, then develop those sketches into a visual identity including a logomark, typography and a complementary color scheme.

LOGOMARK

The logomark is based on an amalgamation of the Jordanian flag and Amman’s rich history with textiles. The intricate patterns in their fabrics are reflected in the logomark.

COLORS

I based the design’s color off the 3 colors of Jordan.

1. Black represents the Abbasid Caliphate.
2. White represents the Umayyad Dynasty and a peaceful & bright future.
3. Green represents the Fatimid Caliphate.
4. Red represents the Hashemite Dynasty which is the current ruling dynasty.
