OVERVIEW
Have you guys met Nick? He’s what we call a unicorn in the Hawaii music scene. He plays 50 different instruments, records music, promotes shows and does a little producing. I thought to myself, “How cool would it be to showcase him writing a song from start to finish?” This video may be a little bit of a flex as well. I had never filmed in slow motion and thought this would be a good opportunity. But don’t tell nick this. This video is mainly about him…
FRAMES PER SECOND
I mean, in the gaming community, it stands for first person shooter, but in the dark corner of my world, it stands for “frames per second.” It’s like how many pictures a second are flashing before your eyes to give you the illusion of motion. Fun fact, some experts will tell you that the human eye can see between 30 and 60 frames per second. Some maintain that it’s not really possible for the human eye to perceive more than 60 frames per second. So what happens when you film something at 120fps? It’s extremely bizarre and nauseating. BUT… if you slow down those frames to 30 or 40 percent, you get this slow motion that is creamier than baby dolphin skin. Very long story short, I incorporated that slow motion into this video. Lets face it, slow motion makes everything look cool. Even Nick!
